Cast list: Mr Crawford: seventy, Devonshire accent.                 

           Kitty: teenager, school uniform.

           Julia: Mr Crawford’s wife.

           Police Officer 1.

 Police Officer 2.


FADE IN:

INT. MR CRAWFORD’S ISOLATED COTTAGE; CONDITION MESSY.


MONTAGE:

MR CRAWFORD wakes up in bed and clutches his chest.

Mr Crawford looks at the bathroom mirror then washes his hands ten times.

Mr Crawford eats and paints small china dolls in the kitchen.

Mr Crawford washes his hands ten times.

Mr Crawford opens the back door to the garden, steps out, pauses then goes back in.  

Mr Crawford falls asleep in his armchair.


INT. LIVING ROOM. LATE AFTERNOON.


The back wall is lined with small dolls. Mr Crawford sleeps in his armchair. The doorbell rings. He opens his eyes, then closes them. The doorbell rings. He sits up and looks at his dolls.     


    MR CRAWFORD

Who could that be?


He switches off the TV and walks over to his dolls. He moves the hair out of one of the doll’s face. He adjusts a doll on the shelf. The doorbell rings. He shakes his head.
